This piece is part of a series. They were created at the request of a homeowner who had sold their house and purchased a new one. They wanted a composition featuring flowers from the house they sold, intended as a gift for the new owners. Another composition, featuring flowers from their new home, was meant for the seller of that home. Lastly, they requested a piece combining flowers from both houses to display in their new home.
This piece was created as a spiritual bouquet, a part of Catholic tradition where prayers or sacrifices are offered for someone’s intentions. Traditionally, the recipient is given a card listing the acts offered for their intentions. Spiritual bouquets in photographic form serve as a lasting reminder to the recipient of the love and devotion offered on their behalf.
